Georgetown guard Reese Hoadley, who scored at least 30 points twice and hit a total of 14 3-pointers, was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-area Girls Athlete of the Week for Dec. 11-16.

Hoadley received more than 46% of the vote after tallying 37 points and making nine 3-pointers in the Eagles' victory over Bastrop and scoring 30 points and hitting five shots from beyond the arc in a win over Pflugerville.

Vandegrift's Maddie Broxterman, McNeil's Riley Samples, Westlake's Tamia King and Cedar Ridge's Janiyah Alvarez were also candidates.

The nine 3-pointers made against Bastrop were a school record.

Georgetown (14-4) is 3-0 in District 23-5A and ranks fifth in the Statesman's latest top 15 power poll.

The Statesman will have a weekly vote for Girls Athlete of the Week and Boys Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
