Gators stand pat in CBS Sports bracketology ahead of Gamecocks game

The 2023-24 college basketball regular season is winding down but the Florida Gators remain red hot heading into its road matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.

Ahead of the epic Southeastern Conference matchup, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm released his latest bracketology update, in which Todd Golden’s team remained a No. 8 seed in the South Region. They also continued to be matched up with the No. 9 Northwestern Wildcats in the opening round while the top-seeded Houston Cougars and No. 16 Fairfield Stags also stayed in the sub-bracket held in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Southeastern Conference is also represented by the No. 2 seed in the Midwest, the Tennessee Volunteers, followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 3, South), Auburn Tigers (No. 4, East), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 5, Midwest), South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 6, Midwest) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 9, Midwest).

Florida hits the road to take on South Carolina on Saturday, March 2, in the first of the final three games of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for noon ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
