Gators earn commitment from this 4-star legacy wide receiver
Florida earned a commitment from current wide receiver Trent Whittemore’s little brother, Creed Whittemore, on Saturday. He chose the Gators over others like UCF, West Virginia and Wake Forest on Saturday during his commitment ceremony at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida.
Creed is ranked as a three-star athlete in the 247Sports composite rankings but as a four-star in the 247Sports independent rankings. In the one where he is more highly ranked, Creed is considered the 223rd overall prospect and the 20th best player at his position.
The Gators coaching staff is recruiting Creed as a wide receiver even though he is listed as an athlete. For the Bobcats, however, he plays quarterback.
He is the second prospect to commit to Florida on Saturday along with four-star interior offensive lineman Knijeah Harris. They join the Gators 2023 recruiting class along with four-star athlete Aaron Gates and three-star wide receiver Tyree Patterson.
Florida is most likely looking to sign more wide receivers this cycle. The current coaching staff wants to add more playmakers after the previous staff struggled to do so.
