Cole Swindell helped Jacksonville ring in the New Year at the 2019 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

He will now be the opening act for the 50th Players Championship.

Swindell, a four-time ACM award winner and multi-platinum singer-songwriter will headline The Players Military Appreciation Day concert at the 17th hole Island Green at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass on March 12, 2004.

Swindell played the Stadium Course for the first time this fall and played the hole on which he will perform.

“I got to scope out where the concert will take place and I got chills just thinking about it," Swindell said in a statement. "To play a show on the most famous hole in golf is a dream come true."

When did Cole Swindell last play in Jacksonville?

When the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in 2018 was played on New Year's Eve night at EverBank Stadium, Swindell did a concert that helped Jacksonville go from 2018 to 2019 when he did a concert at the 50-yard line after Texas A&M routed North Carolina State 52-13.

It was unique performance, never before done after a Gator Bowl game. But Swindell will now go from the 50-yard line at EverBank Stadium to the iconic 17th hole of The Players Stadium Course.

How many No. 1 singles has Cole Swindell had?

Swindell has 12 No. 1 singles as an artist and 13 as a songwriter, and 12 certified-Platinum singles, a Platinum-certified debut album, a Platinum-certified sophomore effort, a Gold-certified third entry and a Gold-certified fourth album.

His Grammy Award-nominated hit “Break Up In The End” was named the 2019 NSAI Song of the Year and most recently, his three-time Platinum chart-topper “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” earned three ACM Awards for Single of the Year and Song of the Year (as both a songwriter and artist), an iHeart Music Award for Country Song of the Year and received a nomination for Musical Event of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards.

“We are thrilled to welcome an artist of Cole's caliber to TPC Sawgrass. He’s an incredible talent and his passion for the sport of golf just adds to the excitement of the week. I know he’s going to put on a great show for our fans and do an incredible job honoring our men and women in uniform,” said Lee Smith, Executive Director of The Players, in a statement.
