Games that the media says Georgia will lose in 2022

Georgia ran the table during the 2021 regular season, finishing with an unblemished 12-0 record.

The term ‘trap game’ was used frequently last year during Georgia’s run. It seemed like almost every week college football analysts were hyping up Georgia’s next matchup as a potential upset, yet every week they were proven incorrect.

Georgia has one of the more navigable schedules in the SEC this year, but by no means would it be considered easy. There’s tough games like Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida and Oregon. The Dawgs will be favored in every game it plays this season, but that won’t stop the media from making bold offseason predictions about Georgia losing in an upset.

We compiled a few media predictions here:

Prediction: Tennessee will beat Georgia

What he said: “The neutral site dates with Florida and Oregon are tough – 50/50 at worst, but both are lean win – and home dates with Samford, Kent State, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, and – in a tougher battle – Tennessee, should all be wins.

There will be a loss along the way, but again … two?”

Brad Shepard of Bleacher Report

Prediction: Oregon will beat Georgia

What he said: “Lanning knows coach Kirby Smart’s tendencies. He knows the defensive scheme, and he also knows the personnel on both sides of the ball. While the Bulldogs are loaded once again, their youth and inexperience, especially on defense, could cause some bumps in the road early.”
