Gabe Vincent will not play on Saturday; is considering surgery

Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent finally returned to action on Wednesday versus the Chicago Bulls after being forced to sit out for an extended stretch due to a knee ailment.

It was the first time he had gotten onto the court for an actual game since Nov. 30. Although he only played 14 minutes, he made somewhat of an impact, and there was hope he would help L.A. with its perimeter defense.

Alas, Vincent was held out of Thursday’s contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He will also sit out Saturday’s matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As a result, the outlook is starting to look bleak for him.

The former University of California, Santa Barabra Gaucho is reportedly considering a procedure that could keep him out until late February.

Last spring, Vincent averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 assists a game while shooting 37.8% from 3-point range, and he was a big factor in the Miami Heat’s Cinderella run to the NBA Finals.
