Furkan Korkmaz traded to Pacers in Buddy Hield deal. What to know about Istanbul native.

Furkan Korkmaz has been traded to the Indiana Pacers as part of a deal that sent Buddy Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Korkmaz will head to Indiana, alongside veteran forward Marcus Morris. The Pacers also received three second-round draft selections. Morris was later traded for Doug McDermott.

After the deadline passed, the Pacers waived Korkmaz, according to reports. This is what you should know about the shooting guard/small forward:

This season, Korkmaz has averaged 2.5 points, .9 rebounds and .7 assists a game. He has put up 6.8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per contest for his NBA career.

Furkan Korkmaz had success in Turkey before playing in the NBA

Korkmaz started playing for Anadolu Efes in 2013. While he was drafted 26th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, Korkmaz returned to Turkey. He was a two-time Turkish Cup winner and was named the FIBA Champions League Best Young Player in 2017.

Furkan Korkmaz requested to be traded from the 76ers... twice

In 2023, Korkmaz requested a trade, however, the 76ers did not move him to another team. He first asked to be traded in November 2018.
