Here are Friday's high school sports results for the Appleton area

BASEBALL

Hortonville 8, Oshkosh West 7

HORTONVILLE - After building a 7-1 lead after four innings, the Polar Bears needed a run in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the Fox Valley Association win.

The Wildcats scored five times in the sixth and once in the seventh to set up Hortonville’s heroics.

Joe Fischer paced the Polar Bears, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

West took advantage of one error and six walks to get back in the game.

Freedom 17, Marinette 2

MARINETTE - The Irish pounded 14 hits in the North Eastern Conference win.

Freshman Carson Peters led the way with five RBIs. He had three hits, including a triple and a double.

Matt Wyngaard also had three hits for Freedom (10-7 overall), while Carson Clausen, Trenton Feucht and Corey Mathison each added two hits. Clausen and Mathison also doubled in the contest and Clausen had three RBIs.

Carter Kriewaldt pitched a complete-game two-hitter. He gave up zero earned runs and struck out four.

Little Chute 4, Wrightstown 0

WRIGHTSTOWN - Drew Joten picked up the win, pitching 6⅔ scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out eight. At the plate, he homered to drive in a pair of runs.

Little Chute scored two runs in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth to earn the North Eastern Conference win.

Charlie Vanden Burgt was 2-for-4 for the Mustangs.

Jack Hermann took the loss for the Tigers, allowing four hits, four runs (two earned) and two walks while striking out four in five innings of work.

Denmark 7, Clintonville 0

DENMARK - The Vikings clinched their third consecutive North Eastern Conference championship as Jaycob Dittmer tossed a four-hitter, striking out three with one walk.

Denmark started fast, scoring three runs in the first on a Lucas Miller RBI double and Rheis Johnson’s RBI single. Nolan Perry had an RBI single in the four-run sixth. Johnson finished 3-for-3, while Eli Kapinos added two hits.

Denmark is 19-2 overall and 15-0 in the NEC.

Menasha 5, Seymour 2

SEYMOUR - The Bluejays scored three times in the seventh to break a tie and earn the Bay Conference win.

Bryce Duzak led the Menasha offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Ian Dohms was 2-for-3 and Nathan Kurland added a double.

Seymour was led by Carson Staffeldt, who was 2-for-3.

Chilton 3, Two Rivers 0

TWO RIVERS - Austin Grube pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Tigers to the victory. Grube struck out 18 batters and walked two.

Chilton scored one run in the second inning, one in the third and one in the fifth.

Slatt Nolan had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Chilton. Max Mueller added two hits, including a double. Hunter Rolbiecki scored two runs.

SOFTBALL

Menasha 6, Seymour 5

MENASHA - The Bluejays overcame three home runs by the Thunder’s Addison Wery to earn the Bay Conference win.

Seymour led 2-1 after three innings before Menasha scored three times in the fifth. Both teams scored a run in the sixth, before the Thunder knotted the score at 5-5 in the seventh.

The Bluejays then walked off with the win. Kelsie Mohr led off the inning with a single, Addie Lund was intentionally walked before Kylie Van De Loo moved the runners over. Taylor Papendorf was intentionally walked to load the bases, and then Maddie Zaves worked a walk to push across the winning run.

Lund was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs, while Zaves was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Eve Rausch was 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Wery was 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Seymour, while Morgan Miller was 2-for-4.

Oconto Falls 7, Wrightstown (Thursday)

WRIGHTSTOWN - The Panthers scored four runs in the seventh inning to complete the come-from-behind victory over the Tigers.

Amelia Danielczak had three hits and scored three runs for Oconto Falls. Madeline Maloney drove in four runs.

Briley Durocher had three hits for Wrightstown, while Maddy Wilson and Lauren Ver Haagh both had two hits. Jordan Vickman drove in two runs.

Lily Kurek got the win for Oconto Falls. Mallory Colwell took the loss for Wrightstown.

Wrightstown 4, Waupaca 2 (Tuesday)

WAUPACA - The Tigers scored three times in the third innning and went on to defeat the Comets.

Maddy Wilson had three hits for Wrightstown. Esme Moses and Amber Radtke both had two hits.

Madyson Stingle pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six.

Hailey Bechard and Peyton Tuma both had two hits for Waupaca. Macie Studzinski had a double and drove in two runs.

Josie Peterson took the loss for Waupaca.
