The Quakers came to Max Read Field to play on Friday night. Middletown 14, Rogers 13

Middletown's Juleun Gilman ran for 104 yards on 13 carries, and scored twice to help the Islanders edge their Aquidneck Island rivals, despite a monster ground game by Rogers' Alex Toribio (153 yards on 17 carries). Cisco Aponte opened the scoring by putting Rogers on the board after a 2-yard run (Nixon Brownell's kick was good). Gilman answered with a 9-yard-run (Pat Cranson made the PAT). Toribio then returned an interception 41 yards to the endzone, but the extra-point attempt was blocked. Gilman dealt the final blow with a 2-yard rushing TD and Cranson iced it by making the extra point with 8 ticks left on the clock.
