Frankston baseball hosts 10th annual chili supper

Jan. 24—The Frankston Indians baseball team is hosting its 10th annual Chili Dinner and Silent Auction Saturday, Jan. 27.

"The chili dinner fundraiser is a fun way to get everyone together to kick off the season," said Ryan Harper, a senior on the baseball team.

This event is an all you can eat chili dinner along with desserts and sweets. Admission is $10 per person. Tickets for the fundraiser are sold at the door at the time of the event.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

While you're there, the team hopes you will check out the silent auction items and place your bids.

There will be a variety of items up for grabs including a set of custom cornhole boards, two Houston Astro tickets, and a Scentsy gift set.

Head baseball coach Wes King said this is the team's only fundraiser and he is hoping to raise $10,000 for his baseball program this year.

King said funds raised will be used to purchase items like travel bags, bats, gloves, custom hoodies and jerseys for the team.

Doors will open for this event at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Frankston High School Cafeteria. Baseball players and parents will be on hand to help serve up dinner to their supporters.

"Without the parents, mostly the moms, there is no way we could make this happen," King said.
