Four-star guard Rowan Byrne updates on season-ending injury, his recruitment and interest in Rutgers football

Rowan Byrne’s recruitment continues to build momentum, this as the four-star offensive lineman is looking to cutdown his offer list in the coming weeks.

At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Byrne was impressive in the first half of his junior season for Iona Prep (New Rochelle, New York). He fractured his fibula and had a grade III high ankle sprain back in early October.

Byrne is one of the top offensive linemen in the nation. At 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, Byrne is solidly built. He moves well and can pull.

He has good strength and his hips are impressive. He finishes his blocks well and plays to the whistle.

The top player in New York in 2025, Byrne is the No. 13 interior offensive lineman in the nation. He played both left and right tackle last season for Iona Prep.

Currently, Byrne holds offers from Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Rutgers among others.
