Four more Browns defenders including both safeties added to reserve/COVID-19 list

The hits just keep on coming for the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. Shortly after the news came out that backup quarterback Case Keenum would be added to the reserve/COVID-19 list, came word that more players were also likely positive from testing today.

Before the league day officially ended, the Browns placed starting safety Ronnie Harrison on the reserve/COVID-19 list where he joined John Johnson III.

Due to the timing of when the team was tested, something that Mayfield fired back at the NFL about, tests were still being processed after the official league transaction sheet came out.

Reportedly, three other defenders will join the list tomorrow. Josina Anderson has stated that those three are Grant Delpit, A.J. Green and Jacob Phillips. Jake Trotter has also reported Green and Delpit’s positive tests.

With both Delpit and Harrison going on the list to join Johnson, the Browns would be down to Richard LeCounte III, Jovante Moffatt and M.J. Stewart along with Tedrick Thompson, just signed to the practice squad today.

Stewart is also in line to play cornerback with Greg Newsome II and Troy Hill out for Saturday’s game due to injury. Losing Green continues to deplete that position group as well.

The new NFL protocols could allow any players on the Cleveland reserve/COVID-19 protocols that are vaccinated and symptom-free to be cleared in time for Saturday’s game. There continues to be no discussion of the game being postponed or moved as of 6:30 PM Thursday night.
