Former UNC OL Diego Pounds finds home in SEC

The North Carolina Tar Heels have seen their fair share of departures via the transfer portal this offseason with the latest being a starting offensive lineman.

Diego Pounds opted to leave North Carolina and transfer out last week and it didn’t take him long to find a new home. On Monday, Pounds announced that he is committing to Ole Miss after spending the weekend in Oxford with the program.

It comes a week after he decommitted from UNC as he goes from the ACC to the SEC now. It also comes a day after the Tar Heels landed a big flip with Howard Sampson opting not to go to TCU and flipping to UNC, instead.

North Carolina’s offensive line will look different next year as they will look to revamp the offense overall. It will be a challenge for both Chip Lindsey and Mack Brown especially with Drake Maye heading to the NFL.
