Former Titans DL Josh Evans has passed away at 48

After a battle with cancer, former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Josh Evans has passed away at the age of 48.

Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk released this statement on the unfortunate news:

“I am so sad to hear that our Titans family lost Josh Evans today. His fight against cancer was one of courage and strength and his teammates were by his side encouraging him throughout that fight. We will remember his big personality and even bigger smile. We send our condolences to his family and friends in this difficult time.”

Evans played in 71 games for the Houston Oilers/Titans, totaling 14.5 sacks and 79 combined tackles. He was also a starter on the Super Bowl XXXIV team and made a big impact during the playoff run, notching 1.5 sacks and 18 combined tackles.

Evans finished his career with the New York Jets, where he played three seasons before retiring.
