Former Texas guard transfers to Texas A&M
Texas Longhorns guard Kyndall Hunter entered the transfer portal after only playing one game in her sophomore season due to personal reasons. She never really found her footing even after going seven for eight from beyond the arc in her debut game in her freshman season after a stellar high school career.
Coming out of Cypress Creek Hunter was considered a top-25 recruit and a MacDonalds All-American.
Below is was Texas Head Coach Vic Schaefer had to say about Hunter when she signed:
“Kyndall is an incredible scorer and explosive player who can finish at all three levels,” Schaefer said in November. “Having already scored over 2,200 points in her high school career, she knows how to finish. She can create her own shot as well as create for others. I saw her score 30-plus one night with ease. We need difference players who can score the basketball. Her range is off the charts. Kyndall’s father, Derrick, and mother, Keoka, have also been incredibly supportive throughout the process. Kyndall’s smile is infectious. She will be great here on the Forty Acres.”
With a team full of young guards, it will be interesting to see how she works into the lineup and if they have any additional guards join Mya Petticord in the transfer portal.
Hunter is another big addition to the incoming 2023 roster that will have two SEC All-Freshmen and three of the top-100 players in next year’s class.
