Former Sixers guard Kevin Ollie lands a job on Nets’ coaching staff
With the offseason in full swing for many teams around the league, now is the time to begin fortifying rosters and coaching staffs in order to prepare for the 2023-24 season.
The Brooklyn Nets are a team that is looking to build forward after trading away both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving during the 2022-23 season. They recovered to make the playoffs, but they were still swept by the Philadelphia 76ers in Round 1 of the postseason.
On Saturday, the Nets made an addition to coach Jacque Vaughn’s staff in the form of former Sixers guard Kevin Ollie. He was a finalist for a head coaching position with the Detroit Pistons before they hired Monty Williams.
Ollie was a finalist for the Detroit Pistons head coaching job and won the 2014 NCAA championship as UConn’s coach. He recently left Overtime Elite after two years of running that NBA-feeder program. https://t.co/bIVg6SJJRz

The 6-foot-4 guard from UConn played 280 games across six seasons for the Sixers and he averaged 2.7 points and 1.6 assists. Ollie was also a bench piece on the 2001 Sixers that reached the finals. He played for 11 teams in his NBA career.
