Former Ole Miss basketball forward Jamarion Sharp charged with aggravated assault
OXFORD — Former Ole Miss basketball forward Jamarion Sharp has been charged with aggravated assault, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department's inmate roster.
Sharp was admitted to the Lafayette County Detention Center on Friday at 8:28 p.m. CT.
The findings of an Oxford Police Department investigation accused Sharp of firing a gun toward an alleged victim while a car was in the process of being repossessed. No one was injured in the incident.
A municipal court judge set a bond of $100,000.
The 7-foot-5 Sharp transferred to Ole Miss from Western Kentucky last offseason to play for coach Chris Beard.
The native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game for the Rebels during his fifth and final season of collegiate eligibility.
Sharp had spent last week partaking in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, where draft-eligible former college basketball players perform in front of pro scouts.
