Former OKC Thunder forward Darius Bazley signs 10-day contract with Philadelphia 76ers

Former OKC Thunder forward Darius Bazley signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported the signing. Bazley averaged 20.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in 18 games this season with Philadelphia's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

OKC selected Bazley with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-9 big man spent four seasons with the team and averaged career highs of 13.7 points and 7.2 rebounds during the 2020-21 campaign.

OKC then sent Bazley to the Phoenix Suns during last season's trade deadline for Dario Saric, a 2029 second-round pick and cash considerations.

Bazley only appeared in seven games for Phoenix last season. He signed with the Brooklyn Nets in July 2023 and got waived in October before he joined Delaware in December.

Bazley has a chance to contribute to the 76ers (32-22), who are in need of frontcourt depth. Star center Joel Embiid is expected to miss an extended period of time due to a knee injury.
