Former Michigan State wide receiver announces he will transfer to Florida State football
Florida State football added another big-time playmaker to its offense Wednesday.
Former Michigan State wide receiver Keon Coleman verbally committed to FSU, announcing his decision on the 247Sports Instagram Live.
Coleman’s addition comes a couple of weeks after receiver Mycah Pittman entered the transfer portal and eventually landed with Utah.
Coleman, who celebrated his 20th birthday Wednesday, had 58 catches, 798 yards and seven touchdowns. Those ranked eighth, sixth and sixth in the Big Ten last season, respectively. He is ranked as the No. 23 overall transfer and No. 4 wide receiver in the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver, took an official visit to Florida State on May 6 and was in Oxford, Miss on May 9. He then canceled his visit to Texas A&M, with the Seminoles and Rebels sitting as the two finalists.
Coleman was the No. 42 wide receiver and the No. 13 player in the state of Louisiana in the 2021 recruiting, according to 247Sports.
He attended Opelousas Catholic School in Opelousas before heading to East Lancing for the last two seasons.
As a junior next season, he will have at least two years of eligibility left for the Seminoles.

What it means for FSU
The Seminoles have an offense that is already highly regarded led by quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Trey Benson and receiver Johnny Wilson.
Wilson, an Arizona State transfer, caught 43 passes for 897 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. He averaged 20.9 yards per catch, catching 22 balls from quarterback Jordan Travis which resulted in 20 yards or more.
With the loss of senior Ontara Wilson (graduated) and Pittman, that leaves two open spots for starters at receiver.
Coleman profiles as a perfect fit to start on the outside, along with Wilson. He will compete with Kentron Poitier, who had a strong spring.
Winston Wright and Ja’Khi Douglas profile as two slot receivers to take on the role Pittman played last season.
Douglas returned from a preseason injury to finish with appear 10 receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the final seven games. Wright led West Virginia with 63 receptions, 688 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2021.
Freshmen Hykeem Williams and Vandrevius Jacobs have both shown flashes in spring practices and could be ready to contribute.
Deuce Spann and Darion Williamson are also back on the roster and can be expected to have larger roles.
The team finally added 2021 recruit Destyn Hill last week to the roster, another potential option on offense.
Returning tight end Markeston Douglas as well as transfer tight ends Jaheim Bell (South Carolina) and Kyle Morlock (Shorter) could see additional work, too.
