Former LSU RB Leonard Fournette escapes unharmed after car catches fire while driving

Former LSU running back and current NFL free agent Leonard Fournette luckily emerged unscathed after a scary moment on the road Tuesday.

According to an Instagram video posted by the Super Bowl LV champion and former fourth overall pick, Fournette’s car caught fire while he was driving on Interstate 275 in Tampa. Luckily, he was able to get out of the car safely.

Looking at the video, it seems he was very fortunate. The front of the car was completely destroyed by the flames.

“Man it was one of those days today, but I would like to thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I am still blessed,” Fournette wrote in his Instagram post.

According to TMZ Sports, the Florida Highway Patrol said the Fournette’s Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat caught on fire due to a mechanical issue, not a crash.

Fournette last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with whom he appeared in 16 games in 2022. He was released by the team on March 17.
