After one season starting at Florida, Richardson was taken fourth overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Colts last April, becoming the highest drafted former UF quarterback since Steve Spurrier went third overall to the San Francisco 49ers in the 1967 NFL Draft.

A former standout at Eastside High in Gainesville, Richardson finished his first full season as a starter with the Gators last season with 2,549 yards passing, 654 yards rushing and a combined 26 touchdowns (17 passing, 9 rushing). In 13 career starts, Richardson went 6-7 as a Gator.
