Former Clemson defensive back Malcolm Greene transfers to Virginia

Less than two weeks after entering the transfer portal, Clemson defensive back Malcolm Greene has a new home. Greene announced via Twitter on Monday he will transfer to Virginia.

The Richmond, Virginia, native will join former Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, now the Cavaliers coach, as a graduate transfer. He'll also reunite with former Clemson running back Kobe Pace, who transferred to Virginia in December.

Greene started five games and played in 29 in his three seasons with the Tigers. He had two career interceptions and was credited with six passes defended.

His playing time dwindled in his third season in 2022. He played in seven games and started two, and he was not on Clemson’s two-deep depth chart for the Orange Bowl.

Greene is the fourth Clemson transfer to land within the ACC since the end of last season, joining Pace, defensive lineman Etinosa Reuben (Georgia Tech) and wide receiver Dacari Collins (NC State).
