Former Alabama LB Jaylen Moody signs with CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders

On Tuesday, former Alabama linebacker Jaylen Moody signed a deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Moody will begin his career on the Roughriders practice squad.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Moody was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cincinnati Bengals but was soon after let go.

Moody spent five seasons at Alabama. The South Carolina native recorded 93 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two sacks with the Crimson Tide. He was a key piece of Alabama’s linebacker room during his last two seasons with the team.

The Roughriders are 6-9 this season and have struggled defensively in recent weeks. With three games remaining in the regular season, it will be interesting to see if Moody is promoted to the active roster in the near future.
