Football roundup: Williamston tops Haslett, Mason, Sexton, Ithaca stay perfect

WILLIAMSTON 20, HASLETT 7

HASLETT — Zach Cribbs threw for a team-high 117 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Hornets to a CAAC Red road win over Haslett. Noah Dunckel tallied a team-high 83 yards rushing and Miles Keener hauled in 67 yards receiving and two touchdowns for Williamston (5-2, 4-1). Nakai Amachree ran for 51 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings (4-3, 3-2).

EVERETT 21, HOLT 7

Nizjai Davidson ran for 104 yards and a touchdown and threw for 65 yards and a score for the Vikings (4-3, 2-2) in their CAAC Blue victory. Javari Funches rushed for 90 yards and Maquari Boyer added 47 yards receiving and a touchdown for Everett.

MASON 55, ST. JOHNS 13

MASON — Cason Carswell completed 10 of 12 passes for 238 yards and five touchdowns for the Division 3 top-ranked Bulldogs, who claimed the outright CAAC Red title with the victory. AJ Martel ran for 97 yards and a touchdown while becoming Mason's all-time leading rusher and Cole Ries added two touchdown receptions. Kaleb Parrish and Derek Badgley also had touchdown catches and finished with seven tackles for the Bulldogs (7-0, 5-0).

SEXTON 42, EATON RAPIDS 0

EATON RAPIDS — Joseph Pizzo was 8 of 11 passing for 161 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score for the Division 4 No. 8 J-Dubbs in their CAAC White win. Josiah Stewart added a punt return for a touchdown and Devon Hodges-Smith had 70 yards receiving and a TD for Sexton (7-0, 6-0). Tayvian Smith and Damien Brown also had touchdowns for the J-Dubbs.

ITHACA 26, SAGINAW MICHIGAN LUTHERAN SEMINARY 7

SAGINAW — Jackson Conn threw for 137 yards and a touchdown and ran for 50 yards and two scores for the Division 8 No. 2-ranked Yellowjackets (7-0, 4-0) in their key TVC White win. Collin Thrush had a receiving touchdown and Parker Wood and Kaleb Hallock had interceptions for Ithaca.

IONIA 45, LANSING CATHOLIC 0

IONIA — Travis Tucker rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs picked up a CAAC White home victory over Lansing Catholic. Brennan Brownell tallied 100 yards and a score while Nolan Hart and Tristian Ciganick each punched in rushing scores for Ionia (3-4, 3-3). Sam Eyde threw for 65 yards for Lansing Catholic (3-4, 2-4).

PERRY 14, STOCKBRIDGE 13

Austin Poirier had a long touchdown run in the opening quarter and connected with Joey McGraw-Allen for a score in the second half for the Ramblers in their nonleague win. Zac Rogozinski ran for 220 yards and a touchdown and Drew Robinson had a rushing TD for Stockbridge.

DeWITT 60, OKEMOS 0

OKEMOS — Elliott Larner led the Panthers with a team-high 78 yards rushing, 31 yards passing and three total touchdowns as DeWitt picked up a CAAC Blue victory over Okemos. Rece Baker ran for 63 yards and a touchdown, Abram Larner punched in two rushing touchdowns and Traverse Moore, Robert Lillie, Trenden Bayshore and Charles Winsor each tacked on a rushing score for DeWitt (4-2, 3-1). Cameron Wardell and Nathan Precise had seven tackles for Okemos (0-7, 0-4).

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 48, JONESVILLE 6

JONESVILLE — Dylan May ran for 90 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 69 yards and a touchdown to lead the Pirates to a nonleague win over Jonesville (2-5). Brayton Thelen racked up a game-high 113 yards and a touchdown, Isaac Thelen threw for 54 yards and a touchdown and Carter Wirth and Gabe Miller each hauled in a receiving score for Pewamo-Westphalia (6-1).

OLIVET 22, LAKEWOOD 6

OLIVET — Tayven Feldpausch had three third-quarter rushing touchdowns and finished with 111 yards on the ground to propel the Eagles to a CAAC White win over Lakewood. Ethan Schaefer ran for a game-high 121 yards, Ty Evart threw for 80 yards and Alec Raymond hit a 25-yard field goal for Olivet (2-5, 2-4). Seth Willette connected with Brennen Lehman for a 16-yard touchdown pass for the Vikings (0-7, 0-6).

LESLIE 35, EAST JACKSON 8

Brogan Dodge ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns and Jayden Colby ran for 94 yards and a touchdown for the Blackhawks in their Cascades Conference win. Braedon Romero had a touchdown run and an interception, Christian Reed ran for a score and Matt Dexter added an interception for Leslie, which halted a four-game losing streak.

NEW LOTHROP 14, OVID-ELSIE 13

ELSIE — Tryce Tokar ran for a team-high 95 yards with two touchdowns and led the defense with eight tackles and an interception for the Marauders as they fell just short in a MMAC home loss to New Lothrop (6-1, 4-1). Cohen Brown and Javen Belill each tallied six tackles for Ovid-Elsie (3-4, 2-3).

SAGINAW SWAN VALLEY 35, ALMA 14

Jacoby Dunlap threw for 234 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score and Cade Sutherland had 117 yards receiving in the Panthers' loss.
