Food at CPKC Stadium: What restaurants fans can find at Current games

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Current will make history this week when they open CPKC Stadium, the first stadium built specifically for a professional women’s team.

And while fans are undoubtedly excited for the Current to have a new home, many are also looking forward to the selection of local restaurants and businesses featured at the stadium.

The stadium concessions will feature local favorites like Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que and Boulevard Brewing, but also smaller brands like High Hopes Ice Cream and Amigoni Urban Winery.

Fans can also sample from multiple James Beard Award semifinalists — and one recent winner.

A special feature of the KC Current’s concessions, the team has partnered with Bold Reuse in its push to be more sustainable.

All drinkware at CPKC Stadium will be recyclable or reusable.

Poured fountain drinks will come in a reusable cup, and guests are asked to return those cups to a bin. They’ll be inspected, sanitized and repacked by Bold Reuse for future games.

The Current won’t provide any single-use plastic bottles or cups. Instead beer, alcohol and water will come in aluminum cans with dedicated bins for recycling.

But there’s a lot more to know about CPKC Stadium concessions. If you’re heading to a KC Current game this season, here are all the local businesses you can find serving fans:

Joe’s Kansas City

The Current are teaming up with a Kansas City barbecue staple — Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que.

The popular KC restaurant will get a prominent location on the northeast side of the Current’s new stadium.
