Florida State football to honor 16 athletes for Senior Day against North Alabama
Florida State football is set to honor 16 athletes in a Senior Day celebration before Saturday's game against North Alabama at Doak Campbell Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on The CW Network.
Former FSU QB Jameis Winston will have his jersey retired following the first quarter.
Most of the players listed are redshirt seniors who have exhausted eligibility. There are a few who have remaining eligibility and could return in 2024.

Defensive back Danj Altine
Altine joined the team in 2022 as a walk-on. He made his career debut last season in the Seminoles' 49-17 win over Louisiana. This season, he’s logged minutes against Southern Miss.
Linebacker Tatum Bethune
A transfer from UCF, Bethune came to FSU in 2022 in made a quick impact. He logged 84 tackles, three sacks, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery in all 13 games last season earning All-ACC honorable mention.
This fall, he’s logged 50 tackles, three quarterback hurries and two pass breakups over all 10 games this season. Bethune has been one of the key pieces in FSU’s defensive depth this season.
Defensive lineman Dennis Briggs
A redshirt senior, Briggs has continued to be a major contributor on the defensive line. Last season, he played in all 13 games, after only playing in four the year prior, recording 21 tackles and three sacks.
This season he’s played in six games, recording 11 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries.
Offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers
Byers is listed as a redshirt junior but FSU has confirmed he will be honored on senior day. A transfer from Texas El Paso, he’s considered to be one of the Seminoles' biggest acquisitions from the portal as a first-team All-Conference USA selection.
He’s been a part of an offensive line that has been extremely consistent and successful in its rotation. Byers has played in all 10 games this season.
Linebacker Kalen DeLoach
A true veteran of the program, DeLoach has been with FSU since 2019 and has only seen his game grow to massive levels. This season he has 59 tackles for 10.5 total yards lost, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.
Two of his seven sacks came in a 27-20 win over Miami. Against Clemson, he forced a fumble on Clemson quarterback Kade Klubnik, leading to a 56-yard, game-changing touchdown.
Safety Akeem Dent
Statistically, one of the best to ever do it in FSU’s secondary, Dent is the program’s leader in career pass breakups with 15. A redshirt senior, he played in all 13 games for FSU last season and started 12.
This season he’s only played in eight games after suffering an injury against Southern Miss. He returned against Virginia Tech and has logged 28 tackles and a forced fumble this season.
Offensive lineman D’Mitri Emmanuel
Playing in his seventh college football season, Emmanuel has been a key piece in FSU’s offensive line rotation this season. He was approved by the NCAA for a seventh year of eligibility after a successful 2022 campaign, and named third-team All-ACC.
He transferred in from Charlotte and has logged minutes in nearly every game this season.
Defensive lineman Braden Fiske
A transfer from Western Michigan, Fiske was another huge pick-up in the portal from FSU. He’s played in all 10 games this season recording 27 tackles, a sack and two quarterback hurries.
He recorded a season-high six tackles in the win against Clemson and was a part of DeLoach’s game-changing touchdown against the Tigers.
Defensive back Renardo Green
The cornerback from Orlando has 35 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups and an interception this season in 10 starts.
The Thorpe Award semifinalist has recorded 140 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 7.0 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, 19 pass breakups and an interception since arriving in 2019.
Defensive back Jarrian Jones
The shutdown corner from Magee, Miss., joined the Seminoles as a transfer from Mississippi State before the 2020 season. In 41 games as a Seminoles and 52 overall collegiate games, he has recorded 90 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, 11 pass breakups and four interceptions.
He has played primary the nickel corner sport this season, appearing in nine games, recording 19 tackles, a tackle for loss, two pass breakups and a pair of interceptions. He returned one for a touchdown in the home opener against Southern Miss.
Defensive lineman Fabien Lovett
From Vicksburg, Miss., Lovett has emerged as a defensive weapon for the Seminoles in his four seasons after transferring in from Mississippi State. He has played 36 games as a Seminole and 51 games in his collegiate career. He has 5.0 tackles and 12.5 tackles for loss in his career.
In 10 games this season, he has 16 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
Offensive lineman Casey Roddick
A redshirt senior from Ojai, California, has earned the starting left guard position for the Seminoles this season and has been a standout there. Roddick's career with Colorado spanned five seasons (2018-22), in which he appeared in 42 games and made 30 starts.
Long snapper James Rosenberry
Rosenberry has earned the praise of Norvell and his staff a lot recently. The Delaware, Ohio native has appeared in all 10 games this season, serving as the long snapper. He has played in 35 straight games over the past three seasons. He joined the Seminoles as a graduate transfer before the 2021 season from Maryland.
Offensive lineman Thomas Shrader (listed on FSU's roster as a redshirt junior)
A redshirt junior from Venice has appeared in seven games this season. He made one start during the 2020 season. He dealt with injuries throughout his career with FSU, which impacted his playing time.
Quarterback Jordan Travis
Travis will finish his career as one of the most decorated players in history. He has also been a major part of the program's turnaround since he arrived.
Here are the noticeable stats Travis is Top 3 in - with the chance to add on to those numbers. He is a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate this season.

Defensive lineman Jared Verse (listed on FSU's roster as a redshirt junior)
The redshirt junior from Dayton, Ohio, has been a transfer portal steal for Norvell and his staff, making a big impact in his two seasons. Verse recorded 13.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss as a Seminole.
This season he has 29 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks and recovered a fumble against Syracuse. He has also recorded a career-high three pass breakups this season with two.
