Original story

The Florida State Board of Trustees Meeting on Wednesday at 3 p.m. was telecast broadcast live online on YouTube.

The meeting, which will be held in the Westcott Building Conference Room, will allow public comments but those will have to be in person.

While the meeting has been in the works for weeks, according to the President's office, it was not finalized until last week, sparking internet interest it might be related to conference realignment.

The agenda focuses on budget approvals but it could be interesting to see if conference realignment is brought up as Florida State's future in the Atlantic Coast Conference continues to be a hot topic around the college football landscape.

Conference realignment chatter and speculation continue to dominate national headlines.

Opinion: Can Florida State afford to wait much longer in whirlwind conference realignment race?

The Seminoles have worked with several legal teams over the past two years to examine the school's options. The conference's sticky grant of rights deal extends until 2036.

Florida State Athletics Director Michael Alford has been gunning for a new revenue distribution model that rewards schools that brings the league a more significant share of the wealth, he stated at the ACC spring meetings his preference is to stay in the ACC.

Alford said he fears the ACC is in danger of falling behind both the SEC and Big Ten in revenue by about $30 million per year when their respective new television contracts start (Big Ten in 2023, SEC in 2024).

Last August, new FSU President Richard McCullough at the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Conference at Amelia Island shared his thoughts for the first time publicly on the conference chaos.
