At least by Florida standards, things have been slow since National Signing Day 2019. Only one four-star prospect in the entire state has made a commitment in the time since, but that’s not to say all has been quiet. Plenty of schools have added important pieces to their 2020 classes over the last two months. Below, Rivals.com has a look at five such pieces.

The highest-ranked Florida-based prospect to commit since National Signing Day, Beck’s pledge to Georgia is made even more important because landing a quarterback can get tricky. Just ask Florida State. The fact that Beck was once committed to Alabama and seemed high on Florida for a time makes things even more sweet for Kirby Smart and company, as the Bulldogs continue to secure recruiting wins over their chief rivals. There’s little doubt that the four-star quarterback will stick with his pledge until signing day, so things on the QB front appear great in Athens.

The most recent commit on this list, Herring pledged his services to Florida State less than a week ago. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman is coming off a solid performance at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Central Florida and is seemingly getting a little more fluid and effective with each passing month. Herring, who sits on the verge of four-star status, picked the Seminoles over offers from schools such as Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Virginia.
