Mia Williams got the offense jump-started for Florida with a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. All three runs were unearned, as the Tigers struggled in the field with one of their three errors for the game in the inning. Skylar Wallace added a two-run home run in the bottom fifth inning to push the Florida lead to 6-1. Wallace and Williams each had three RBIs, while six different Gators players scored at least once. Wallace's three home runs in the tournament tied the record.

Keagan Rothrock earned her third victory of the tournament, going all seven innings, allowing one earned run and striking out six. Kelly Barnhill was the last UF pitcher to win all three games during the SEC Tournament.

With the victory, Florida has put itself squarely in the mix to host not only a Regional but also a Super Regional. The Gators finished eighth in the SEC last season and were picked to finish seventh in the preseason. Florida finished second in the regular season and won its first SEC Tournament since 2019.

Here are the highlights from Saturday's SEC Championship game for Florida softball:

Despite back-to-back one-out singles, the freshman worked out of the jam by retiring the final two hitters of the inning to send UF to its final ABs sporting a five-run lead. The Gators can actually end the game with three more runs in the bottom of the inning of by getting three more outs in the seventh and final inning.

Skylar Wallace extends Florida softball lead to 6-1 with home run

6:33 p.m.: For a fourth straight game, Skylar Wallace has gone yard. Wallace took a low pitch and took it to straightaway center for a two-run home run to a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kendra Falby scored from third on the home run after reaching on a single to start the inning.

6:29 p.m.: Keagan Rothrock gets through another scoreless inning despite a two-out double by leadoff hitter Jenna Laird. Marissa McCann is on to pitch in relief of Laurin Krings. All four runs have been unearned for UF so far.

5:43 p.m.: Interesting half-inning there. It began with Keagan Rothrock picking up her second swinging strikeout on a riseball. But the Tigers got back-to-back hits, including one on a bunt single which almost made it to the outfield. Rothrock induced back-to-back flyouts to get out of the jam. Centerfielder Kendra Falby had a nice leaping grab at the warning track for the second out.

Mia Williams cranks a 3-run home run to put Florida softball ahead 3-0

5:34 p.m.: Nine-hole hitter Mia Williams came to the plate with a .172 batting average. It did not matter, as she hit a 3-run shot to give the Gators a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
