Florida earns crystal ball prediction for talented in-state cornerback

College football recruiting is heating back up along with the weather as the Florida Gators resume their push for the top prep prospects the nation has to offer.

On Tuesday, Billy Napier and Co. earned a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports for a promising in-state target. Three-star cornerback Kaylib Singleton out of Orange Park (Florida) Fleming Island in the 2025 cycle has been in the program’s crosshairs and it appears that they are close to sealing the deal.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 173-pound defensive back has visited campus once this year on a junior day in January while also getting acclimated with newly-hired secondary coach Will Harris from afar.

The high school junior has the Orange and Blue as his only official visit, which is scheduled for the weekend of May 31-June 2. Singleton also is making an effort to visit during the spring as well.

He also runs track, a sport that he has continued to improve in this year. The Sunshine State product ran a personal best of 10.56 seconds in the 100-meter sprint (wind-aided) as well as a 10.72-second run this month.

Singleton is ranked No. 804 overall and No. 69 at cornerback position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while Rivals lists him as an athlete and ranks him No. 38 at that position nationally. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Gators a 98.5% chance of landing him.
