Will Florida baseball make the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Here's where UF stands

Florida baseball will have a long wait before Memorial Day to find out if it gets selected into the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Florida Gators (28-27) returned from Hoover, Ala., after being knocked out the SEC Tournament in single elimination by Vanderbilt 6-3 on Tuesday.

Florida has made 15 trips to the NCAA Tournament under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan and hasn't missed an NCAA Regional since 2007, in Pat McMahon's final year as coach.

"Our biggest hurdle was to get above .500," O'Sullivan said. "That was the first obstacle we needed to get over. Then obviously there's five of us that have 13 wins in the league. Anybody can look at the metrics, strength of schedule, how many Quad 1 wins.

"But at the end of the day, I look at things a little bit differently. There's potentially six hosts in our league, which we've never had before. We've went 9-9 against them."

Florida won four of 10 three-game series against SEC teams during the regular season including taking 2 of 3 against Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia and Mississippi State.

All we can do is put our heads down and continue to work this coming week, and whatever happens, happens," Florida center fielder Michael Robertson said.
