Five teams in the Post-Crescent coverage area are in the WIAA football playoffs. Who's close to joining them?

With Week 7 of the high school football season this week, here is a look at teams that have qualified for the WIAA postseason and those on the verge of doing so.

A team must have a winning record in conference play to guarantee a spot in the playoffs. The lists below take that into account and do not include instances where a team can be .500 or below and still make the postseason depending on how the brackets unfold.

They're in

Fox Valley Lutheran (5-1, 4-0 North Eastern Conference): Foxes share top spot in NEC with Luxemburg-Casco and finish season at Wrightstown, then home against Luxemburg-Casco and Freedom.

Kimberly (5-0, 4-0 Fox Valley Association): Papermakers sit alone atop FVA and finish regular season against Neenah, at Kaukauna and at Appleton North.

Menasha (5-1, 4-0 Fox River Classic Conference-South): Bluejays tied atop FRCC-South with Notre Dame. Finish season at Notre Dame, home against Sheboygan North and at Green Bay Southwest.

Weyauwega-Fremont (6-0, 4-0 CWC-Large): Warhawks tied atop conference with Stratford and Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Finish season at Amherst, then at home against Stratford and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Xavier (5-1, 4-0 Bay): The Hawks are alone atop the Bay and finish the regular season vs. Shawano and Winneconne and at New London.

Need one more conference win

Appleton North (5-1, 3-1 FVA): Lightning finish season at Kaukauna, at Appleton East and at home against Kimberly.

Clintonville (3-5, 3-1 Northwoods): Truckers play at Oconto Falls, at home against Coleman and at Tomahawk to end the regular season.

Hortonville (4-2, 3-1 Valley Football Association): Polar Bears finish season at D.C. Everest, at home against Wausau West and at Marshfield.

Kaukauna (5-1, 3-1 FVA): Ghosts finish season at Appleton North, then home against Kimberly and Appleton East.

Neenah (5-1, 3-1 FVA): Rockets finish season at Kimberly, at home against Fond du Lac and at Oshkosh North.

Winneconne (4-2, 3-1 Bay): Wolves finish at home against Seymour, at Xavier and hosting Waupaca.

Wrightstown (5-1, 3-1 North Eastern): Tigers finish regular season playing top teams in the NEC. They host Fox Valley Lutheran this week before games at Little Chute and home against Luxemburg-Casco.

Need two more conference wins

Little Chute (4-2, 2-2 North Eastern): Mustangs close regular season at Freedom before home games against Wrightstown and Denmark.

Need to win out

Appleton East (2-4, 1-3 FVA): Patriots finish season at Oshkosh West, at home against Appleton North and at Kaukauna.

Brillion (2-4, 1-3 Eastern Wisconsin): Lions finish regular season vs. Chilton, at Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian and home against Valders.

Chilton (2-4, 1-3 Eastern Wisconsin): Tigers complete regular season at Brillion, home against Roncalli and at Two Rivers.

New London (2-4, 1-3 Bay): Bulldogs are home against Waupaca and at Shawano before hosting Xavier.

Seymour (1-5, 1-3 Bay): Thunder are at Winneconne, at Waupaca and home against Shawano.

Shiocton (1-5, 1-3 CWC-Large): The Chiefs finish their season at home against Manawa, at Wittenberg-Birnamwood and at Nekoosa.

St. Mary Catholic (2-4, 1-3 Trailways): Zephyrs close regular season at home vs. Randolph and Oshkosh Lourdes then at Cambria-Friesland.

Waupaca (1-5, 1-3 Bay): Comets are at New London, home against Seymour and at Winneconne to finish the season.
