Five-star shooting guard Cam Scott sets commitment date

Cam Scott is one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class, and he is ready to announce his commitment. The five-star shooting guard revealed his top six schools and set a decision date of Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. CT. He plans to commit live on On3’s YouTube Channel.

As expected, Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers made the cut and will battle Alabama, Oregon, Texas, Ole Miss and South Carolina for Scott.

The Lexington, South Carolina, native has taken several trips to the Plains, including an official visit on Nov. 11, 2022. He has had great things to say about Auburn, admitting he was impressed with the environment.

“I love Auburn,” Scott told On3’s Brian Shaw in April. “I’m not even going to lie to you. Being down there, it was a really comfortable environment. Talking with the coaches, they’re all friendly. Some of the players getting recruited by them are already hitting me up, guys who are already committed, telling me Auburn is the place.”

“I get probably three of four DMs a day telling me to go to Auburn.”

Scott is the No. 24 overall player and No. 5 shooting guard in the 2024 recruiting class. The 6-foot-5, 165-pounder is also the No. 1 player from South Carolina.

Auburn has already landed one five-star guard in the 2024 class, point guard Tadaad Pettiford. He is the No. 2 point guard in the class.

If Auburn can land both, it will be the first time the Tigers have signed two five-star prospects in the same class, and they would become the second- and sixth-highest-rated signees in program history.
