Five star QB picks Michigan over UNC, others

The North Carolina Tar Heels football program did not receive good news on Friday in the form of a five-star recruiting target. Instead, they will have to look elsewhere at the quarterback position for the future.

Five-star in-state prospect Jadyn Davis officially ended his recruitment on Friday, just a week after announcing his top five schools. Davis verbally committed to Michigan during a segment on SportsCenter, giving the Wolverines a big commitment in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot-, 202-pound Davis is a five-star prospect that had a total of 32 offers in his recruitment. Last week, Davis cut that list down to UNC, Michigan, Clemson, Ohio State and Tennessee. But the Wolverines have been considered the favorites for some time now.

Davis ranks No. 28 nationally, the No. 2 quarterback and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

With Davis out of the mix, North Carolina’s 2024 class still stays at 6 commitments and is ranked No. 21. UNC currently does not have any offers out to quarterbacks in the 2024 class.
