The Minnesota Vikings finally got back in the win column last Sunday after losing four straight. Now that they’ve gotten over the hump, it’s time for Minnesota to build momentum. They must build on the win over the Cardinals and their efforts earlier this season.

1. Stefon Diggs unlikely to play?

Via Adam Schefter, Stefon Diggs is unlikely to play on Thanksgiving, despite his questionable tag. He is nursing an ailing knee and it may be smart to rest him on a short week.

2. Laquon Treadwell to see more time on Thanksgiving?

Unfortunately, the Vikings will unlikely be able to utilize the talents of Stefon Diggs. In his place, Adam Thielen and Cordarrelle Patterson will take up most of the snaps. Fans should also expect Treadwell to see a healthy dose of playing time. He would be a deadly weapon if Pat Shurmur called his number in the red zone.

3. Cordarrelle Patterson to return punts?

Marcus Sherels will be about this week so the Vikings must figure out a backup option. Diggs normally steps in when Sherels can’t go but he will likely be held out of action as well. Look for either Adam Thielen or Cordarrelle Patterson to take over the role in week 12.

4. Defense back in shape?

The Vikings defense has been struggling in recent weeks but looked to regain form in the second half of Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals. If they can continue to rush the passer as they did last week, Minnesota will be in good shape going forward.

5. Division hopes riding on Thanksgiving?

No, the Vikings are not necessarily in must win mode. However, a win on Thanksgiving would pay great dividends towards winning the division. Should the Vikings beat the Lions, they would be a full game ahead and control their own destiny going forward.

Wrap up

That does it for another edition of Vikings five questions. Make sure to come back each week to catch up on the latest news and speculation surrounding Minnesota.

If the Vikings can get an important road victory, the gained momentum could very well carry them into the playoffs.
