United Soccer Coaches named five Milwaukee-area girls athletes to its 2022-23 High School Winter/Spring All-American team last week.
The 33-player list includes Whitefish Bay senior goalkeeper Riley Franklin, Divine Savior Holy Angels senior defender Piper Dupies, Whitefish Bay senior forward Sofia Englund, Pewaukee senior forward Zoe Hevey and Muskego junior forward Anna Sikorski.
The USC All-American honor was the second for Sikorski, as she was also recognized in 2021-22 as a sophomore. She is committed to the University of Kentucky for soccer. All four seniors are committed to universities for soccer starting this fall as well, including: Franklin (Baylor), Dupies (Williams College), Englund (St. Thomas) and Hevey (Loyola Chicago).
Sikorski led Muskego to a second consecutive WIAA Division 1 state title this spring, while Englund and Franklin were pivotal parts of a Division 2 state title-winning team as well.
The Kansas City, Mo.-based United Soccer Coaches organization was founded in 1941 to increase promotion, publicity and teaching of the game of soccer. The All-American teams are chosen by a 10-member committee of current and former coaches. The full list of honorees is available on the United Soccer Coaches' website.
