Here are five concessions to try during NASCAR weekend at Talladega
TALLADEGA − There are plenty of great concession options at Talladega Superspeedway that fans can stop by on race day Sunday.
The Yellawood 500 green flag will drop at 1 p.m. CT on NBC.
The Gadsden Times sportswriter Maxwell Donaldson tried three food options and a non-alcoholic drink option during Saturday's truck series race.
Philly Cheesesteak
Price: $16 with fries
This was a pretty messy meal with nacho-style cheese on top of a mix of steak, onions and peppers, so definitely grab a handful of napkins for your meal and watch the drip of the cheese. The bun is great for cheesesteaks and its a solid mix of meat and veggies.
French fries
The fries come with almost any entrée including chicken fingers (also $16). They are the crinkle-cut fries and a solid amount comes with each order, not too much but not too little. The ones the Times tried were crunchy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside.
Corn Dog
Price: $7
A solid-sized corn dog is a nice bang-for-your-buck option but the one the Times tried wasn't the best ever. The breading wasn't fully crisped making for a softer corn dog than some might like.
Pretzel
Price: $7
As someone who likes a solid pretzel, this passed the test. It's not too big but not the small ones that you sometimes find at a stadium. It was the right mix of crunchy and soft along with buttery and salty.
It looked like some concession stands sold cheese to go with the pretzels.
Lemonade
Price: $7
Temperatures rising into the mid to high-80s demanded a strong lemonade. It was a big cup, resembling a large cup at your favorite fast food restaurant. It was a great mix of sour and sweet as well.
