Final score prediction for Commanders vs. Giants, Week 11

It’s time for the rematch. In Week 7, the New York Giants, with veteran Tyrod Taylor at quarterback in place of the injured Daniel Jones, defeated the Washington Commanders 14-7.

It was an ugly game. For Washington, it was a forgettable game for the offense and quarterback Sam Howell. The Commanders had no answer for New York defensive coordinator Wink Martindale’s pressure packages.

Since then, the Commanders have done a much better of protecting Howell. In turn, Howell has had the best stretch of his young career.

Can Howell keep that stretch going against the Giants in Week 11? This is another test for the young quarterback. He was excellent in both meetings against the Eagles.

We here at Commanders Wire have made our picks for the Week 11 showdown between Washington and New York.

It’s so easy to say the Commanders will win this game. The Giants are beaten up and wounded, while the Commanders have played much better offensively. Of course, anyone who has followed Washington for years knows these are the types of games the Commanders lose frequently.

The good news, at least for now, is that it appears Washington has a real quarterback. Sam Howell still has a lot to prove, but he’s given fans hope. Howell has shown the ability to bounce back from adversity. While he has had three consecutive excellent games, Howell undoubtedly remembers his performance against the Giants in Week 7.

I believe Washington rises to the occasion on Sunday. Howell plays well, and the defense makes life miserable for rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito.

Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale enjoyed these teams’ first matchup, embarrassing the offensive line and quarterback Sam Howell. The Commanders will need a game plan to better effectively protect Howell and to get the ball out of his hands quicker.

Howell has improved his level of play, putting together three consecutive games where he effectively led the offense and contributed the ball well.

Once again, a primary concern is whether the Washington defense will prevent the giving up of big offensive plays.

Week in and week out, the Washington Commanders continue to play up (and down) to their competition. The team’s last five outings have all ended as one-score games. Will this week be more of the same?

A lot has changed since the Commanders lost to the Giants 14-7 last month in the Meadowlands. New York is down to third-string rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito and missing star tight end Darren Waller, who caught a TD the last time these teams played. This offense is in shambles, I suspect Ron Rivera will stack the box and sell out to stop Saquon Barkley and the run game.

With everything working in Washington’s favor, thoughts of a letdown game start to creep in. However, I’ll go against my better judgment and say Sam Howell and company take care of business and put this one away early, winning by double digits for the first time this season.
