Final injury report: Trevor Lawrence listed as questionable for Jaguars game at New Orleans

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was listed as questionable for a Thursday night game against the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome.

The team's final injury report, released on Wednesday, also ruled out cornerback Tyson Campbell, who came out of last week's game against the Indianapolis Colts with a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Zay Jones and offensive tackle Walker Little also remain out with knee injuries.

Guard Brandon Scherff (ankle) is also listed as questionable.

Questionable, as defined by the NFL, is a player who has a 50-50 chance of being able to compete.

C.J. Beathard, a seven-year NFL veteran, is the backup quarterback.

As added insurance, the Jaguars on Wednesday elevated practice-squad quarterback Nathan Rourke to the active roster. Rourke, a native of British Columbia, played in all three preseason games and turned in a series of impressive outings.

Lawrence hurt against Colts

Lawrence injured his knee when he was tackled while trying to roll out to his left late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 37-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Stadium.

The Jaguars were leading 34-20 at the time and offensive coordinator Press Taylor, in a play call defended several times by coach Doug Pederson, called for the past on a third-and-seven from the Colts' 16-yard line with 3:14 left in the game.

Lawrence completed 20 of 30 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns but was sacked three times. He's been sacked 16 times this season, tied for the 11th-most allowed in the NFL.

Lawrence wore a brace on Tuesday

Lawrence's knee was encased in a brace during Tuesday's practice, the only one open to the media before the team traveled to New Orleans.

During the period of time open to the media, Lawrence engaged in non-contact throwing drills but was held out of two drills, a "ball security drill" in which assistant coaches and team managers throw rubber balls and try to pop the ball out from skill position players, and another where the quarterbacks worked on read-option footwork.

However, Lawrence tried to downplay his mobility and being held out of some drills.

“It’s different. It’s something I haven’t had any experience with, so that adds a challenge to it just because you’re not used to it," he said of wearing the brace of practice. "I feel good with where I’m at right now, so I’m just taking it day-by-day and seeing how it gets better.”
