Final 2023 fastest cross country runners in Livingston County
Quite frankly, I didn’t expect the final Livingston County cross country honor roll to change much from the list that ran prior to the state meet.
While the Michigan International Speedway course can yield personal records, windy and muddy conditions in the past have made it nearly impossible to run fast.
But with perfect conditions Saturday, the final list of fastest performers got an overhaul.
Seven boys and five girls from the county ran season-best times Saturday.
Two significant moves were made by Pinckney boys.
Senior Paul Moore dropped his time from 15:41.6 to 15:13.5, moving from fourth last week to first on the final list.
Cole McCraw lowered his time from 16:54.0 to 16:32.9, breaking the Pinckney freshman record of 16:33.9 set by Ryan Talbott in 2013 at Huron Meadows Metropark. Owning the freshman record at Pinckney is no small feat, given the caliber of runners who have come through the program.
Also, with Brighton’s Tyler Brock and Tyler Outlaw breaking 16 minutes for the first time, the county has nine sub-16 times, the highest total in records going back to 2009.
Following is the final list of fastest cross country times in Livingston County:
