Last week's nominees: Vote now for the Journal News/lohud Player of the Week

Sophia Brown Pearl River

The senior forward and midfielder registered points in all three games as the Pirates went 2-0-1 last week. She had three assists in a 5-0 win over Somers and netted a hat trick and assisted on her team's other goal in a 4-0 shutout of Albertus Magnus. Then she scored to knot things with 4:28 remaining in the game as Pearl River tied ranked John Jay-Cross River 2-2.

Olivia Galati, Clarkstown

The senior, who's known in large part for her shutdown defense and an athleticism that allows her to play the entire field, scored the game-winning goal as a midfielder in a 2-1 win over Mahopac last Monday. She closed the week at forward, where she scored unassisted and applied near-continuous pressure on Carmel's defense inside the circle in a 4-1 win.

Giavanna Latte-alcin, Nyack

The sophomore forward scored both RedHawk goals in a 2-0 win over Albertus Magnus.

Giuliana Leone, North Rockland

The junior defenseman had multiple critical saves on the posts and key clears in a 1-0 win over John Jay-East Fishkill.

Caitlin Ruggiero, Suffern

The senior forward helped increase the Mounties' season mark to 3-3-2, scoring in Suffern's 2-1 win over Arlington and then scoring as Suffern again played Arlington, beating it by that same 2-1 score.
