Fans now can vote on this year's Packers FAN Hall of Fame finalists
GREEN BAY – There's not a piker among these Packers fans, 10 finalists to be the 26th member of the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame.
Some are shareholders or season ticket holders, but all are passionate Packers fans. Six of them live in Wisconsin, but they have nothing on the four who live in other states. And it's up to other Packers fans to help decided which of them should join the 25 others in the FAN Hall of Fame.
Fans can read the finalists’ profiles and vote online at packers.com/fhof. The winner will be selected by Packers fans and the Packers’ selection committee. The voting deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 31. Voters will be entered into a random drawing to win Packers merchandise.
The selection will be announced in late February.
Last year's inductee was John Breske of Elderon.
Packers fans were asked to nominate themselves or a friend with an essay of 500 words or less, accompanied by a photo, explaining why he or she should be recognized. Ten finalists were selected by the Packers FAN Hall of Fame selection committee. The final selection is made by voters, the selection committee and previous inductees.
The Packers were the first professional football team to have a hall of fame. In 1998, they created a Packers FAN Hall of Fame to honor devout and longtime Packers fans.
