Fans and media members react to former Duck Travis Dye’s season-ending injury with USC

Once you’re a Duck, you’re always a Duck.

It didn’t matter that veteran running back Travis Dye — who holds the No. 4 spot on Oregon’s all-time career-rushing list — decided to transfer to the USC Trojans during the offseason. Oregon fans were still going to find the compassion to support him from a distance as long as he wasn’t lining up on the opposite sideline as the Ducks in a game.

So when Dye went down with what looked like a brutal injury on Friday night in the Trojans’ game vs. Colorado, it was felt up in Eugene. Dye ended up being carted off the field sporting an air cast on his leg, and USC coach Lincoln Riley said after the game that his season is over.

A tough way for Dye’s historic college career to come to an end, to say the least.

On Friday night and Saturday morning as the news trickled throughout Oregon Twitter, Duck fans paid their respects, as national media members reacted to what this loss may mean for the Trojans.
