Fall all-area series: Here are the top 2023 Augusta-area high school softball players

The second leg of our 2023 fall sports all-area series brings us to softball.

It was another banner year for the sport in Augusta, with two programs (Harlem and Grovetown) reaching the state tournament in Columbus. Two more programs (Thomson and Greenbrier) won region championships and hosted super regionals in the Georgia High School Association state playoffs.

What stands out is the number of underclassmen represented on this list, meaning the future of the sport here is just as bright as the present.

It should be noted South Carolina plays softball in the spring, so we'll take a look at those players in 2024.
