Falcons place LB Troy Andersen on injured reserve

The Atlanta Falcons have placed Troy Andersen on the injured reserve list, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. The second-year linebacker suffered a shoulder injury late in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Taking Andersen’s place on the 53-man roster is offensive lineman Storm Norton. The Falcons signed Storm Norton off the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.

The Falcons will look to reserve linebacker Nate Landman to step in Andersen’s absence. In Week 3, Landman finished the game as the team’s highest-graded player, according to Pro Football Focus.

Atlanta will get some veteran depth on the offensive line in Norton. The 29-year-old spent his last three seasons with the Chargers, starting 15 games in 2021.
