The evolution of Marcus Smart as a guard for the Boston Celtics

The evolution of Marcus Smart as a guard for the Boston Celtics

Season after season with the Boston Celtics after being drafted out of Oklahoma State by the storied ball club in 2013, veteran Celtics point guard Marcus Smart has always had another, more decorated floor general ahead of him in the pecking order until last season.

Once he got the reigns to man the point for the Celtics, the Flower Mound native transformed his game to become a prototypical pass-first maestro at the 1, with Boston’s offense hitting historic levels as a partial result. How has the Texan guard’s game changed over the years as he has had to adapt tp the structure of the Celtics’ roster?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast sat down to talk it over on a recent episode following a win over the Washington Wizards.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
