ESPN's Dick Vitale has Tennessee basketball in 2022 NCAA Tournament Final Four

The Tennessee basketball team is entering the 2022 NCAA Tournament as the third seed in the South Region, which ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale believed was too low.

Despite that, Vitale has Tennessee advancing to the Final Four.

Vitale projects the Vols coming out of the region instead of No. 1 Arizona or No. 2 Villanova. Vitale also has Gonzaga, Kentucky and Iowa in the Final Four, with Tennessee falling short of a national championship. Vitale predicts Kentucky will beat Gonzaga in the final.

Tennessee never has made the Final Four in program history. The closest the Vols have come was in 2010, when UT made its first Elite Eight appearance. Tennessee lost to Michigan State 70-69, sending the Spartans to the Final Four. The Vols have not been back to the Elite Eight.

Tennessee opens the tournament on Thursday in Indianapolis, facing 14th-seeded Longwood.
