Disney Invitational: Orlando sharpshooter Hunter Cattoor leads Va. Tech; Texas A&M, Iowa St. stay perfect

No. 19 FAU, which went to the Final Four last season, highlighted the action at the ESPN Events Invitational at the Wide World of Sports complex on Thanksgiving Day.

Virginia Tech 82, Boise St. 75

Hunter Cattoor and Lynn Kidd had 19 points apiece, Sean Pedulla scored 18 and the Hokies outlasted the Broncos. Cattoor sank 5 of 10 shots from 3-point range and hit 4 of 5 free throws for Tech (4-1). Kidd made 6 of 8 shots and all seven of his foul shots, adding 6 rebounds. Pedulla had 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

Tyson Degenhart paced Boise State (2-2) with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Chibuzo Agbo totaled 15 points and 9 boards.

Virginia Tech plays Iowa State on Friday. Boise State plays VCU.

Iowa State 68, VCU 64

The Cyclones erased a 15-point deficit to knock off the Rams in Game 3 of the tournament and remain unblemished.

Tamin Lipsey and Keshon Gilbert tied for a game-high 22 points each in the victory.

Max Shulga paced VCU (3-2) with 17 points, but its execution was lacking late in the second half in losing the advantage.

Texas A&M 89, Penn State 77

In the opener No. 12 Texas A&M pulled away for in the second half to stay undefeated. Henry Coleman III led the Aggies (5-0) with 24 points and Wade Taylor IV added 23. Tyrece Radford added 14.

Penn State (4-1) was led by Kanye Clary (19 points) Puff Johnson (15 points).
