Who are some of Erie County's notable high school athletes for April 9-13?

This week's list of notable performances by Erie County's varsity athletes will be shorter than usual.

It has nothing to do with their various results and everything to do with universal fate.

Monday's schedule was void of games due to the total solar eclipse which passed over the county that afternoon. Most schools postponed classes that day for that rare cosmic event.

Action resumed Tuesday. Top performances from that day and those through Saturday are:

Baseball

Alex Smith, McDowell: His four RBIs were part of the Trojans' 15-0, three-inning win over Erie High.

Tyler Gilmore, Girard: He was the winning pitcher thanks to a six-inning start for the YellowJackets, who defeated Seneca 5-3.

Ian Kinney, Union City: He singled twice and scored a run for the Bears, whose three-run first inning held up for a 3-2 victory vs. the Iroquois Braves.

Brady Coleman, Mercyhurst Prep: His three RBIs accounted for half of the offense for the Lakers when they won 6-0 at Fairview.
