Eli Morgan tagged for four runs as Guardians, Rangers tie, 5-5, in spring tuneup

Mar. 20—Eli Morgan had an afternoon to forget out of the bullpen as the Guardians blew a four-run seventh-inning lead and had to settle for a 5-5 tie with the Rangers on March 20.

Morgan went two innings and yielded four runs on four hits, walking one and striking out one. The rough outing ballooned his spring earned-run average to 10.29.

On the brighter side, Hunter Gaddis struck out six in 3 2/3 innings as the starter. He allowed one run on three hits and walked none.

Josh Naylor belted a two-run home run in the fourth as part of a 3-for-3 day, upping his spring average to .342.

Jose Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double, increasing his average to .343.

The Guardians will host the Dodgers at Goodyear, Ariz., on March 21. First pitch is 4:05 p.m.
